Crowns

Stainless Steel Crowns

Indications for Stainless Steel Crowns:

Primary Teeth

  • A restoration fractured and the durability of placing another restoration is questionable
  • When decay involves multiple surfaces of the tooth and the durability of a restoration would be very questionable
  • Decalcification located along the gum line around the tooth

Permanent Teeth

  • Hypoplasia (abnormal enamel formation) involving much of the tooth structure
  • Decay involving most of the crown structure of the tooth leaving too little tooth structure to support a restoration

Bonded Resin Crown for the Baby Molars

A resin Crown is a highly effective solution for restoring baby molars that have multiple surfaces of decay. These crowns are designed to protect and preserve the tooth after treatment, such as a pulpotomy (a nerve treatment often needed when decay reaches deep into the tooth). Resin crowns offer superior durability, making them ideal for back teeth that handle most of the chewing. They help maintain proper spacing for adult teeth and prevent further damage or early tooth loss.

Indications:

  • Extensive decay involving multiple surfaces on a baby molar

  • Following a pulpotomy or deep cavity treatment

  • Need for long-lasting protection and function in back teeth
