Keeping an Eye on Your Child’s Smile

Next, we’ll show you to one of our hygiene exam rooms where your little one can get comfortable. If your child is very young, we may do a knee to knee exam during the entire visit. Many children feel most secure this way and it allows for our dental team to perform more thorough dental care!  At your child’s visit, we offer one parent to accompany them back to the treatment area, if needed. We want everyone to feel as comfortable as possible during their first time with us!

  • Dr. Lutz and Dr. Slevin will count teeth and check both teeth and gums, ensuring everything looks healthy and strong. They’ll also review any existing sealants or dental work to make sure they’re protecting your child’s smile perfectly.
  • We’ll chat with you and your child about their daily tooth care routine, discuss any habits like thumb sucking or pacifier use, and answer all your questions. If we notice anything that needs attention, we’ll explain everything clearly.
  • Most visits end with a gentle cleaning and recommended protective treatment of fluoride to keep those teeth extra safe. And the best part? Your child gets a special prize  before heading home!
